• This power of attorney is the lesser-known power of attorney as holds lesser power. This document is designed for short term use. It will NOT remain valid should you go on to lose mental capacity. This document does not assist in making decisions regarding your welfare.

• This document allows a chosen person to make decisions about your finances, bills, benefits and taxes or where you live, day to day care and medication, care home decisions and life sustaining treatment.
• The document requires registration at the Office of the Public Guardian (The Court). The Court charge a registration fee of £92 per document dependent on your income levels.

• Should you require a professional to review and confirm your understanding of your Lasting Power of Attorney that was written by you or another party.

• You may wish to withdraw your current power of attorney.

• You may have drafted a power of attorney and now wish for your attorneys to act on it. This may require Court registration. Alternatively, you may be an attorney and be required to register a power of attorney enabling you to use it.

Legal Advice

• You may require legal advice regarding your circumstances. This may be by way of gathering information or simply reviewing a document. The charge is dependent on who will act for you.

Solicitor with 8 years or more experience – £225 per hour 

Lawyers with 8 years or more experience – £200 per hour  

• You may wish to sever the way in which you hold your property. This may be to compliment your Will or reflect your personal circumstances.

• You may wish to discover how you hold your property and if the deeds are registered at the Land registry. The Land Registry are likely to charge separate additional fees to this.

• There may be additional fees whilst liaising with a third party i.e. GP or social worker.

• You may wish to collect your previous Will

• Additional copies certified charged at £10 per copy.

• You may have a trust that you require to be registered with the Trust Service.
